Mother’s Day is an annual celebration honoring mothers and motherhood. It is celebrated on the 6th of March in the United Kingdom, and May 8th in the USA, Canada, and many other countries.
From personal experience I know the dilemma children have when it comes around to mother’s day. What gift could we get that really shows her how much she means to us? Nothing is good enough!
And yet we can’t ignore the day altogether and tell her that we appreciate her every day of the year so why celebrate just this one day?
Off we go to buy one of these popular Mother’s Day gifts:
1. A bouquet of her favourite flowers
To make her smell as sweet as she is (aww).
3. A voucher for a spa treatment or spa day.
Go with her to make it even more fun.
4. A new coffee cup
5. Jewellery or a jewellery box.
Diamonds are a girl’s best friend after all so how can you go wrong with it?!
6. A bottle of her favourite wine or champagne.
7. Personalised or handmade gifts.
This is a cute idea if the kids are young. Click here for a list of the best personalized gifts and how to make them.
For older children you could make her a personalised calendar with your birthdays, pictures, and any important dates.
8. Breakfast in bed.
Nothing says ‘thanks mom for everything’ more than waking up early to cook her her favourite breakfast. A little adult supervision from dad would be helpful if the kids are young! Be careful not to make too much noise and wake her.

9. A Greeting card
Don’t forget to buy a greeting card so you can put down in words how much your mom means to you.
If all else fails, just give her a little piece and quiet. This costs nothing and is the best gift you can give a mother. Don’t yell at her, don’t ask her to cook for you, don’t do anything to upset her. Just let her have a day to herself.
Happy Mother’s Day!
